VOLUNTEER INFORMATION - WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The Texas Humane Legislation Network is a statewide grass roots
organization founded in 1975 to fight for the enactment and
enforcement of laws which would protect animals from neglect and
abuse. Our members represent a wide diversity of interests which
include: overpopulation, mistreatment of animals, wildlife
rehabilitation, animal sheltering, habitat protection, fund raising,
and other related issues. We are the only organization in Texas
whose resources are totally committed to the passage of animal
protection legislation.
Although THLN does not have a physical location in which to man
phone banks, mail letters, call representatives, fund raise, etc.,
this does not mean we do not need you to volunteer your time,
expertise, or knowledge to assist us. Your help is especially needed
during January through June of a legislative year, which falls every
odd numbered year in Texas (ie: 2003). During this time, we need you
to phone your legislators, mail letters, help with fund raising,
assist in legal research, and join us at the Capitol. During the off
years, THLN works to determine the animal protection issues that we
will pursue in the next session. New ideas are always welcome! If
you are interested, and think you have a few hours to assist us each
month, please call the number below, or click on the link to email
us. We look forward to hearing from you!
